1969 Class AA West Div. Football State Runner-up: Loss was to Hendersonville, not Henderson.

  3. Charlotte Howard says:

We recently moved to South Carolina from Houston. Texas and Wilbur’s daughter and three young grandchildren wanted to visit his hometown. We enjoyed an afternoon in Lowell and visited George Polson park. It is a lovely small town, much different from Houston, but it gave us a real sense of Wilbur ‘s early childhood. It warns my heart that Lowell and Holbrook High School embrace Wilbur and his accomplishments in baseball. Thank you.
