My sister Jan Scallion, brought FLAG-WAVING to the marching band in 1957. They didn't have flag waving but did have baton twirling. She never received recognition for efforts. Probably because she was a Yankee. Although you wouldn't have known it from the way she talked. She picked up the N.C. brough rather quickly. We lived at 100 S.Broad Street next door to the grave yard. Last time I was in Edenton the house was gone. If I remember correctly there was a Bank on that corner. Out of all mytravels I still consider Edenton to be the best place I've lived. I many fond memories of those times.
