Eagles End Season 2nd in State
The Monitor High basketball Eagles have wound up the season as the second strongest Class B team in the state. They were barely nudged out last Saturday night by West Point High for the championship honor. . . . Saturday night saw the Eagles completely ineffective on their inside work, however, Wallace and Curtis Jackson were almost 100% accurate on their tosses from the outside. But it wasn’t enough and the Eagles had to settle for second place behind West Point, the new champion in Class B ball. The final score in the game was 62-54.

On Harris County’s side: Consolidated into Harris County School System of Hamilton, Georgia.
On Troup County’s side: West Point City School System was merged with Troup County School System of LaGrange, Georgia. TCHS is now serving students from West Point. West Point High School was folded into Troup County High School in LaGrange. TCSS merged all County Middle Schools in Southwestern Troup County to form Long Cane Middle School of LaGrange (which served students from West Point). West Point Elementary is now part of Troup County School System of LaGrange.
in 1993 Nearly seven years after Troup County School System ‘s consolidation of West Point City School System . when LaGrange City School System was Merged with Troup County School System .all of Schools is now part of Troup County School System . in 1996 when Hogansville High School was folded into Callaway High School of LaGrange, Georgia. when West Georgia RESA now has Seven School Systems Including Carroll County Schools, Carrolton City Schools, Coweta County Schools, Harris County Schools, Heard County Schools,Meriwether County Schools & Troup County Schools. is located in Grantville.
